CryptoSim

Privacy policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

In one line

CryptoSim has no accounts and asks you for no personal data. Your portfolio, your trades and your history live only on your phone. The only things that leave the device are the requests for prices and news to third-party services, and the data Google needs in order to show the advertising that pays for the app.

This policy explains what data the CryptoSim Android app processes, for what purpose and for how long. The data controller is LoreApps Studio, contact address ffiliugomez@gmail.com.

What we do not collect

The app has no sign-up and no login. We neither ask for nor receive any of the following:

The name you can type into your profile is a nickname for the local league table. It is stored on your own device and is sent nowhere.

What is processed

1. Prices — CoinGecko

CryptoSim has no server of its own. To show you real prices, the app queries the public CoinGecko API directly, and also downloads each coin's icon from there. As with any internet request, CoinGecko receives the IP address the request comes from, along with the usual technical details of an HTTP request.

The app sends CoinGecko no identifier of yours, no portfolio and no trades: the requests are identical to any other user's and return the same public price list for everybody. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in providing the app's core function. CoinGecko's own handling of that request is governed by its terms, available in its privacy policy.

2. News — CoinDesk and Cointelegraph

The news tab downloads the public headlines from the RSS feeds of CoinDesk and Cointelegraph, along with their accompanying images. As above, those servers receive your IP address when serving the content. If you tap a headline, the article opens in your phone's browser, and from that point the publisher's own privacy policy applies.

3. Advertising — Google AdMob

The app is free and is funded by advertising served by Google AdMob. To show and measure it, Google may process:

That processing is carried out by Google under its own terms. You can read them in the Google Privacy Policy and in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier at any time from Settings → Google → Ads on your Android device.

4. Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows you a message before displaying any advertising so that you can decide about the use of your data for advertising purposes. That message is managed by Google's consent platform.

You can change your decision at any time from Settings → Privacy options inside the app. If you withdraw consent the app keeps working exactly the same; what changes is that the advertising stops being personalised.

5. Data that never leaves your device

This is most of what the app stores, and none of it is sent anywhere:

All of it is deleted when you uninstall the app. The league table on your profile is computed on your own phone against simulated traders generated by the app: there is no other real user on the other side, and your performance is shared with nobody.

6. Notifications

Price alerts are generated on your own device: the app periodically checks prices and, if one crosses the price you chose, it creates the notification locally. We use no push notifications, no device identifier is registered in any system of ours, and we do not use Firebase Cloud Messaging.

You can turn notifications off from your Android settings without affecting the rest of the app.

No analytics tooling

The app includes no analytics or behavioural tracking SDK — not Google Analytics, not Firebase Analytics, none from third parties. Beyond the advertising described above, nobody measures what you do inside the app.

Children

CryptoSim is an educational tool about financial markets and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children of that age.

Your rights

If the General Data Protection Regulation or the UK GDPR applies to you, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your country's supervisory authority.

With one caveat worth stating plainly: because there are no accounts and we operate no server, we hold nothing of yours at all with which to answer an access or erasure request. The data the app generates is yours and sits on your phone; it is removed entirely by uninstalling, and the portfolio can be reset from Settings → Reset portfolio. Everything to do with advertising is in your hands from the consent message itself and from your Android settings.

To exercise any right or resolve a question, write to ffiliugomez@gmail.com.

International transfers

Google, CoinGecko and the news outlets named above may process the data described on servers located outside the European Economic Area, relying on the transfer mechanisms provided for in the applicable rules. The details are in their respective policies, linked above.

Changes to this policy

If what the app processes changes, this page is updated and the date in the header with it. Material changes will additionally be announced inside the app.
